Tragedy - Nerve Damage (2006)

Brutal crust/neocrust from former members of His Hero Is Gone. If black bloc anarchists had a soundtrack on the streets, it would be this album. Ignore the punk genre warriors who bitch and moan about this band being some type of crust Nickelback. They are posturing morons who force themselves to like 7" records by 8th rate Discharge clones.

Saigon - Moral Of The Story (2007)

Sai been on the 'Next Up' list for, like, 6 years now. Due to a shady record label and a shadier industry atmosphere, he's been mostly limited to mixtape and digital releases. Still...ignore him at your own risk.

Leftöver Crack - Fuck World Trade (2004)

Apparently, liking this band or album is almost a cliche or "so 5 years ago..." for some punks. Well, that's why I try to stay away from you pseudo-hipster scum. This album is angry and raging ska/pop-punk/death metal/hardcore brilliance. Songs about corporate control of the airwaves, drugs, jail, killing cops, neoliberalism, and more. Summary: Dig it.

This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb - Front Seat Solidarity (2001)

Siete Nueve -Trabuco (2006)

Underground political hip-hop out of Puerto Rico. They have a seriously overlooked scene there, and even if you can't understand Spainsh, this album must be copped. This ain't no reggaeton, this is the shit ya Rican South Bronx cousin would make if he wasn't too busy trying to avoid gentrification.

Reks - Grey Hairs (2008)

Probably THE album of 2008, Reks is the best rapper from Boston, which really ain't sayin' much when all your town has to show for is House Of Pain and fucking Benzino. But for real, this cat can spit, and he can also pick beats. If the world had any sense of fairness, this dude would be topping charts instead of [insert generic crackbaby Southern ringtone 'rapper' here].

Blaq Poet - Tha Blaqprint 2CD [2009]

Blaq Poet + DJ Premier. Or mediocre MC combined with one of the greatest beat makers in hip-hop history. Sound familiar? Well it is. Premo has always insisted on teaming up with MC's that are average (Guru) to wack (Big Shug). But the beats always make up for it, and they do on this collection of material, some of which is at least 3 years old and previously released. Regardless, based on the production alone, you need this.
